Matthew 22:27-40

The first and greatest commandment of all is to love the Lord God with all out heart, soul and mind and the second greatest commandment is to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Exodus 20:3-17

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
This is following the commandment of loving the Lord above all others.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
This is also showing that we love God above everyone else and anything because we are choosing not to worship any graven image.
 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting theiniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
The follows the first great commandment
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God invain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that takethhis name in vain.
This follows the first commandment because if we truly love the Lord we will use his name with reverence and respect.
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
This follows the first great commandment because we will remember that the sabbath day is the day for us to really dedicate everything to the Lord so that we show him our love.
12 ¶Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
This follows the second great commandment to love our neighbor as ourselves because we must treat our parents with love and respect.
 13 Thou shalt not kill.
This follows the second great commandment to love others by ourselves, because if we truly love them we will not want to harm them.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
This is loving others as ourselves because we will recognize that they are precious children of our loving heavenly father and will want to treat them with respect and be loyal and faithful to our spouces.
 15 Thou shalt not steal.
This is following the second great commandment because if we love others we will want to help them and not make them suffer by taking their belongings.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thyneighbour.
This follows the second great commandment because we will want to be honest in all our dealings with those we love.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing thatis thy neighbour’s.
This follows the second commandment to love others.
I believe that above all we must love the Lord because when we love the Lord we will naturally want to obey all the commandments and therefore be very blessed. this also includes the desire we have to love others and therefore this will fall into place. Because following Christ we will have charity which is the pure love of Christ and with this we will be able to demonstrate true love. When we put the love of others first we won't be able to truly do what is right. Some of the problems people have with putting their love of others first is there is the breaking of the law of chastity, there is adultery, and there are divorces because people choose to misunderstand their feelings for others and are lustful and therefore leave their families following pursuits that aren't righteous.
I know that when we put the Lord first he will help us, and our love for him should be the most important thing of all things. I know that when I focus on what the Lord wants then I am happier. Because I truly love the Lord then I follow the commandments for the right reasons and therefore have feelings of peach and happiness. I have noticed in my life when people follow the commandments out of a feeling of obligation they become spiteful, but when they do it from love then it is more important.
I have learned from my parents what it means to really have love for the Lord and others, because they are always making sacrifices to make sure they are doing what is right. For example we have always had family prayer and scripture study because the prophets had encouraged us to do that and therefore we do and are blessed as a family.
